There's a Blood Moon on the horizon early Friday morning and the Observatory at Hamilton College is giving the public an extra special view. The blood moon is actually a lunar eclipse that fully eclipses the moon for about an hour, giving it an eerie red glow, known as the blood moon.
Sky-watchers get a double treat this weekend. In addition to a full, Harvest Moon that should appear very large since it will be the closest full moon of the year to the earth according to NASA lunar experts, there will be a total lunar eclipse as well.
