Not even a few days after New York reached a 15-year high in flu cases, people are now testing positive for two other extremely contagious and possibly dangerous illnesses.

Oneida County has two reported cases of Monkey Pox, according to the New York State Department of Health. Recently, the World Health Organization declared a global health emergency due to a breakout in Africa, and now we're seeing cases of the deadly disease here in Upstate New York.

Health officials are closely monitoring a severe mpox outbreak overseas and are preparing for if - or when - the virus makes it to New York.
