UNDATED (AP) — Some of the lower 48 states are bracing for an Arctic air blast from a growing high pressure system fueled by the remnants of Typhoon Nuri which is moving east after blasting remote parts of Alaska's Aleutian chain with hurricane-force winds.
The destruction left in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan is devastating, and unimaginable on so many levels. The death toll is still being tallied, and probably will be for days and possibly weeks to come, as emergency personnel sift through the rubble that now covers much of the island nation of the Philippines.
