Mr. Whitfield challenges Congress to 'do something'

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrats plan to use Senate consideration of the Keystone XL oil pipeline to get Republicans on the record about climate change and to resurrect parts of a bipartisan energy efficiency bill doomed by pipeline politics last year. But Republicans readied additions such as lifting a ban on crude oil exports.

Standing up to speak on the floor of the United States Senate to hold up a vote on an issue via a talking filibuster is a rare but time-honored tradition.  And there is one happening right now by the junior senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul.  Paul started his filibuster saying "I will speak until I can no longer speak."
