Following the Winter Olympic Games in South Korea next year, Erin Hamlin will retire from the sport of Luge. The Remsen native made the announcement in Germany on Sunday after she qualified for her 4th Olympic USA Luge team.

What a way to kick off the winter season. Erin Hamlin followed up her historic Olympic bronze medal win in Sochi last winter by winning gold at the U.S Luge World Cup. Her teammates were close behind, sweeping the medal podium for the first time in history with Emily Sweeney taking silver and Summer Britcher, bronze in Lake Placid over the weekend.
