The Utica University men's hockey team is one step away from another UCHC championship, and another berth into the NCAA Div III tournament.

The Utica University Pioneers are ranked 4th in the country in the USCHO PairWise Division III Rankings and for the third straight year, they're competing for a conference title.

The Utica University Pioneers men's hockey team will have an extra week to prepare for the NCAA Division III hockey championship tournament after receiving a bye during Monday's selection show. That means Heenan's Pioneers won't play until the quarterfinals at home on March 18th.

Known for being among the highest ranked programs in the country, this collegiate team has now slid into the top spot and can boast a national No.1 ranking.

They're preparing for some big 'takedowns' at Utica University starting very soon.

The nationally ranked #3 Utica College men's hockey team won the UCHC conference championship on Saturday with a convincing 6-2 win over Wilkes University at the Adirondack Bank Center. It was Utica's 20th straight win and their 2nd UCHC championship in the last three years.
