Teen Killed In Snowmobile Crash

Osceola, NY (WIBX) - A 16-year-old from Webster, New York has died after a snowmobile crash in Lewis County.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Office is still working to determine what caused Daniel DeSanctis to go off the Michigan Mills/Osceola snowmobile trail. Investigators say after going off the trail, DeSanctis went down an embankment and hit several trees.

The accident was discovered shortly after it occurred, at around 2:50 Monday afternoon, by a group of DeSanctis was riding with, according to Sheriff Mike Tabolt.

DeSanctis was alone on the sled at the time of the accident and no other snowmobile was involved, according to a release from Tabolt.
