Early Thursday morning a tractor trailer fire on the New York State Thruway brought traffic to a halt.

From Exit 34 eastbound in Canastota to Exit 33 in Verona traffic has been limited to one lane, the right lane.

The lane closure has allowed for cleanup of the damage to the tractor-trailer and that it can be done safely.

On the NYS Thruway website, traffic maps indicate the lane is still blocked and will be 'until further notice.' Make sure to take this into account on planning for your morning commute.

We have no details yet on the cause of the fire.
