A woman and her child avoided serious injuries yesterday after a two vehicle accident on Route 365.

According to Sheriff Rob Maciol, Karra Bretcher, 25, of Rome, lost control of her car on slippery pavement when it skidded into the opposite lane and hit a plow truck.

Maciol says both vehicles were demolished and Bretcher's 3 year old daughter had to be extricated from the rear of the vehicle.

Neither Bretcher or her daughter, who was in a child safety seat were injured, but they were brought to a local hospital for evaluation as a precaution.

Stephen Oneil, the driver of the plow truck was also uninjured and declined transport to a local hospital.
