Utica, NY (WIBX) - Donovan Stadium came alive with the cheers of more than 2,000 fans, but that wasn't enough to help the Utica Brewers beat their division rivals, the Adirondack Trail Blazers.

The Brewers (4-4) celebrated Kids Day yesterday with an 11 a.m. game, busing in students from area schools to see some baseball. Those attending received coupons from Arby's and Taco Bell as part of the event.

The Brewers scored runs early, taking a 3-0 lead through three innings, but Adirondack (5-2) quickly responded, scoring two runs in the top of the fourth.

It wasn't until late in the game, with the scored knotted up 5-5, that the Trail Blazers' bats broke the game wide open. Adirondack scored five runs in the eighth inning off three Brewers pitchers, taking a 10-5 lead into the ninth.

The Trail Blazers tacked on two more runs in the ninth, padding their lead and securing the game. Utica was unable to rally, but added one run in the bottom of the frame. Final Score: Adirondack 12, Utica 6.

The Brewers will be back in action at Donovan Stadium this Friday night at 7, when they take on the U.S. Military All-Stars in an exhibition game. Free American flags will be handed out to the first 3,000 fans in attendance.
