Utica, NY (WIBX) - "Good training and common sense, these are the things that will keep you safe and get you home", that was the message from Keynote Speaker and Albany Fire Chief Robert Forezzi to the latest class of the Utica Fire Academy.

The 28 cadets, the second largest class in fire academy history, graduated from the 15 month program earlier today, 8 of which will be Utica Fire Fighters. Deputy Chief and Utica Fire Academy Instructor Brendan Dunn says that he is proud to play a roll in training new fire fighters from across the state.

Other local fire departments form Little falls, Poland and Rome also graduated cadets during Today's ceremony.
