During the past two weeks, Utica Police have saved the lives of five people who had overdosed on heroin.

Since the first of the year, UPD officers have saved the lives of 13 individuals by administering Naloxone.

Police say since the beginning of the year, three people have died due to heroin overdoses, including two who were in their 20s.

Members of the Utica Police Department were equipped and trained to use Naloxone in January 2015.
