Utica Woman Charged With Forgery
New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - New Hartford Police have arrested a Utica woman on a forgery charge.
28-year old Amber Stevens was arrested following an investigation into a forged document passed at the New Hartford Wal-Mart.
Police say they received a complaint from a health care practioner in Utica that a medical leave document had been submitted to Wal-Mart by an employee and the signature on the form was forged.
Stevens told police she faced termination after numerous unexplained absences from work and the document contained a fake diagnosis that excused her from work for that period.
Stevens was charged with one count of forgery.
