Vernon Downs Owner Jeff Gural Supports Proposition 1

A new Siena College poll shows that 56% of New Yorkers favor Proposition 1 to expand casino gambling in New York State.
Jeff Gural, Owner and CEO of Vernon Downs held a press conference today to show his support for the proposition.

He said the tax revenue that local communities would receive from expanded casinos make the case for voting yes on prop 1.

Gural says with new casinos operating in the state, municipalities would see a share of around $50 million that could go to property tax relief and schools.

He says Oneida County could potentially see $18 million of that revenue per year.

Gural also said opening four new casinos in upstate New York would create around 10,000 jobs.
