'Veronica Mars' will soon make history as the world's first canceled TV series to land in movie theaters through crowdfunding near of a decade later, but it seems the series has at least one more trick up its sleeve. The Kristen Bell detective drama will soon spawn a digital series spinoff for the CW, successor to the UPN on which the series began, but what story might the spinoff follow?

For the moment, no details have been made available of a potential 'Veronica Mars' digital series spinoff, as series creator Rob Thomas has only just negotiated the deal, without locking down a cast or concept. For speculation's sake, we'd imagine the CW to have interest in testing the waters for a revival series of sorts, one that wouldn't necessarily have to shell out for the franchise's now-expensive leads.

As for the movie itself, the feature-length continuation of the Kristen Bell-centric PI series will see big-city lawyer Veronica Mars returning to her hometown of Neptune, California, once former beau Logan (Jason Dohring) finds himself accused of murder. In addition to all the love-triangly goodness glimpsed in the recent trailer, the cast includes a number of old favorites from Tina Majorino, to ‘New Girl‘ star Max Greenfield, and even new player Jerry O’ Connell.

Also among those present for the historic revival are Ken Marino, Martin StarrRyan Hansen and Krysten Ritter, Francis Capra (Weevil), Brandon Hillock (Deputy Sacks), Kevin Sheridan (Sean), Jonathan Chesner (Corny), Sam Huntington (Luke), Amanda Noret (Madison), Daran Norris (Cliff), Percy Daggs III (Wallace), and Enrico Colantoni (Keith).

We'll likely learn more of the digital series spinoff as we get closer to the 'Veronica Mars' movie's March 14 release date, but in the meantime, what say you? Could 'Veronica Mars' live on in a new series after all? Watch the trailer again below, and give us your thoughts in the comments!
