Welfare Fraud Arrests In Madison County
The Madison County Sheriff's Office has arrested two women for welfare fraud.
38-year old Hope Layo of East Syracuse and 30-year old Adrianne Wagoner of Canastota are each charged with welfare fraud and offering a false instrument for filing.
Investigators say Layo was overpaid $2,255 in public assistance benefits by claiming she lived in Madison County, when she in fact lived in Onondaga County.
Wagoner was overpaid $7,020 after allegedly claiming her three children lived with her.
Authorities say the children had not lived with her for over a year.
