Whitesboro FD Battle House Fire On Denton Avenue

Whitesboro, NY (WIBX) - A house fire on Denton Avenue in Whitesboro is under control. Captain Dave Glenn with the Whitesboro Fire Department is still on the scene. He says the first units took on the flames coming from the chimney of the house.

"There was residents at home, they evacuated, and first engine on scene went up and fended the roof and put it out," he said.  He says an investigation into the cause of the fire has started. No one was injured and officials reopened the road to traffic. He says the fire wasn't a major threat to area residents.
