2 Men Hurt In Fatal Helicopter Crash Released From Hospital

BEEKMANTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — Two New York men who were injured in a helicopter crash that killed the two other men on board have been released from an upstate hospital.

Local media outlets report that 30-year-old Benjamin McAllister, of Hopkinton in St. Lawrence County, and 34-year-old co-pilot Scott Fabia, of Hyde Park in Dutchess County, have been released from the Plattsburgh hospital.

State police say the men were injured and 56-year-old pilot Robert T. Hoban Jr., of Shamong, New Jersey, and 30-year-old passenger Jeremy Kearns, of Massena in St. Lawrence County, were killed when their helicopter hit power lines and crashed while doing utility installation work Tuesday afternoon in Beekmantown.

Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board investigators arrived at the crash scene Wednesday to begin a probe into what caused the crash.
