2012 Election Sets New Record For Spending
Washington, D.C. (WIBX) - Did you make a donation to a campaign or party this election year?
If it was $10, $100 or $1,000 it is going toward a record setting total of $6-billion spent on the race for the White House and both houses of Congress, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
The site estimates that $930-million was spent in support of President Obama, and about $1-billion for Mitt Romney.
The rest going to hundreds of races for the House and Senate across the country.
