2014 Boilermaker School Challenge Winners Announced

The winners of this year’s Boilermaker School Challenge have been announced.

In the 5k race, the New Hartford Girls’ team beat out the 7 time reigning champs the Sauquoit Valley Girls, while the New Hartford Boys successfully defended their title against the Sauquoit Valley Boys team.

The New Hartford girls finished with a combined time of 1:54:47 in the 5k, and their first five finishers are:

  • Juliet Hall
  • Alyssa Suit
  • Emily Hull
  • Elizabeth Haddad
  • Chloe Kem

New Hartford boys finished with a combined time of 1:35:46 in the 5k, and their first five finishers are:

  • Kelan McKenna
  • Ian McKenna
  • Nicholas Lemire
  • Cooper Deck
  • Kenneth Burdick

In the 15k challenge, Whitesboro Central School took home both the boys’ and girls’ trophies.

The girls’ team finished the 15k with a time of 7:37:47 and their first five finishers are:

  • Danielle Royal
  • Morgan Ashton
  • Peggy Hilton
  • Cassandra Raynor
  • Rebecca Schrantz

The boys’ team finished the 15k with a time of 5:31:36 and their first five finishers are:

  • Nicholas Aston
  • Brendon Decker
  • Tyler Sutton
  • Tyler Beattie
  • Edmund Royal

New Hartford School also won the Highest Percentage of Participation award with 2.30% of the student body running either the 5k or the 15k races.
