Utica, NY (WIBX) - A an underground 'pop' caused a bit of alarm in downtown Utica this afternoon, but officials with National Grid say there is no reason for concern.

The noise was an electricity cable that blew, and fortunately no National Grid customers lost their power because of it.

Spokesperson Virginia Limmiatis says the blown cable may have caused a momentary loss of power, but everyone no customers service is affected.
