Calvin Borel Inducted Into National Museum Of Racing Hall Of Fame

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Jockey Calvin Borel, who captured the Kentucky Derby three times in four years, has been inducted into the National Museum of Racing's Hall of Fame.

Borel, five thoroughbreds and two racing luminaries were inducted Friday in a ceremony at the hall across from Saratoga Race Course.

The 46-year-old Borel has ridden the winners of more than 5,000 races and has purses exceeding $121 million in a career that began in 1983. He won the 2007 Derby with Street Sense, the 2009 Derby with Mine That Bird and the 2010 Derby aboard Super Saver.

Horses Invasor, Lure, Housebuster, McDynamo and Tuscalee, and racing figures August Belmont III and Paul Mellon also were inducted.
