The Utica Comets used a three-goal outburst in the opening 6:30 of the second period to snap their three game slide, hammering the Belleville Senators 7-1 at the Adirdonack Bank Center on Friday night.

Reid Boucher's first of two goals on the night came 2:26 in the second frame, a power play score that nicked off the post and into the net. Philip Holm scored 2:11 later, and Michael Chaput followed with another PP goal 1:47 after that to quickly put Belleville in a 3-0 hole.

Ashton Saunter would score to make it 4-0 before the end of the period. Jayson Megna became the fifth Comet to beat Sens goalie Danny Taylor 39 seconds into the third. And, Griffen Molino recorded his first professional goal with just under 2:30 in the game.


Jordan Subban collected three assists on the night and Nikolay Goldobin registered two.

Thatcher Demko stopped 26 of 27 shots faced for the Comets. Taylor allowed 7 of 34.

Utica (6-7-0-1) hosts the Hartford Wolf Pack Saturday Night at 7 p.m.
