Congressman Richard Hanna welcomed a special guest at President Obama's 2013 State of the Union address. Retired Army Col. Benjamin Margolius, of Vestal, NY, served from 1963 to 1991, including two tours in Vietnam and was Hanna's guest at the event.

Guests aren't allowed to sit with members of Congress, so Margolius say in the gallery "near Michelle Obama", Hanna said.

Margolius is First Vice President of the NYS Council of Chapters for Military Officers Association of America and Vice President and co-founder of the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group.

Hanna's thoughts on 2013 SOTU:

  • "Everything I heard I've heard before"
  • But, Hanna said he 'appreciated' what the President said, and "agreed with much of it."
  • _
