The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is warning consumers in Oneida County and the surrounding area not to drink unpasteurized raw milk from the Winters Grass Farm in Sauquoit due to possible Listeria contamination.

AG and Markets officials say a sample of raw milk was discovered to be contaminated with Listeria.  The farm immediately, voluntarily suspended sales of the milk.

The farm is now prohibited from from selling raw milk until testing indicates that the product is free from the harmful bacteria.

The Department recommends consumers who purchased raw milk from the Winters Grass Farm to immediately dispose of it.  Anyone with questions can all the Department at 518-457-1772.

The say to date, no illnesses have been associated with the product.
