The deadline to sign up for the Civil Service exam to become an Oneida County Sheriff's Office Correction Officer is approaching.

The test will be held on February 11th, but the deadline to sign up for the exam is December 23rd.

The Sheriff's Office has 14 full-time vacancies and will be filling those vacancies by spring of 2017.

Minimum qualifications to take the exam require you to be at least 18 years of age at the time appointment, you must be a legal resident of Oneida County at least one month prior to the exam, and you have to have graduated from high school or possess a high school equivalency diploma.

Starting salary for an Oneida County Sheriff's Office Correction Officer is $30,754 initially and then after successfully completing 6 months of employment, the salary adjusts to $36,181 annually.
