A Deerfield man will head to court on reckless endangerment charges after being accused of firing a handgun.

State Police say 39-year old Andrew Alsheimer was arrested yesterday at his home after allegedly shooting several rounds into a tree near the Marcy Marina and the Marcy Canal Walking Trial.

He left the area after being confronted by workers at the marina and was arrested near his home about an hour later.

No one was injured.

Alsheimer was charged with one count of reckless endangerment. Police say their investigation is continuing.
