Denny Hamlin earned career win number 18 at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday, edging Kevin Harvick to take the Subway Fresh Fit 500.

Hamlin, who was running just his second race with crew chief Darian Grubb, led the final 59 laps.

Harvick was in hot pursuit with under five to go but ran out of gas - somehow he was able to maintain his position and finish second.

Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson and Brad Keselowski ran 3-4-5.

Hamlin, who was fourth at Datyona, holds a six point lead in the Sprint Cup Standings.
