New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare broke ground today on a 31-million dollar expansion project that will improve long-term care services as well as consolidate community-based alternatives for Oneida County residents.

The expansion will create an eight station outpatient dialysis unit and an expanded Adult Day Health Care Program.

Other services including Continuing Care, the Visiting Nurse Association and Senior Network Health will also relocated to the new facility at the St. Luke's Home.

President and CEO Scott Perra says this expansion will help Oneida County and it's residents, "What we hoping for is a more efficient process for our patients and residents to be able to access (services) because everything will be located together, so they wont have to go to several different spots" said Perra, adding "certainly having everything located in one building will make that easier".

The new facility is expected to open in the Fall of 2012.
