Utica, NY (WIBX) - An Oneida County legislator is calling for County Executive Anthony Picente to use his power of veto regarding a local law to reduce the size of the board by four.

George Joseph believes the county should adopt the Reapportionment Committee's recommendation to chop six seat from the board.

Joseph was chairman of that committee, and says the county maybe missing the opportunity to give the public what it has been asking for - a smaller and more efficient government.

Joseph and eight other legislators, who wanted a larger cut, voted against the local law, while 18 others supported it.

Appearing on First Look this morning, Picente said he was considering a veto to sent the proposal back to the committee level.
