Officials in the Mount Markham School District say a comment made by a high school student during class on Friday that could have been interpreted as a threat turned out to be a false alarm.

They say after talking with the student, it was determined there was no threat to students, faculty or staff as a result of the comment.

School district officials say a State Police investigator interviewed the student over the weekend and decided there was no threat and no means to carry out a threat

Parents of students at the school were notified of the situation.

A State Police patrol car was on campus this morning as a precaution.
