You may have heard that a non for profit group in the city of Chicago is taking a unique approach to connecting with inner city youth to keep them out of trouble. You could say that compared to traditional outreach efforts, this approach is a bit of a stretch.

I Grow Chicago has introduced movement yoga to many at-risk kids, along with other empowerment, wellness, arts and educational programs.

Tameka Lawson with I Grow Chicago joined WIBX First News with Keeler in the Morning talk about the many benefits of yoga for the kids, which she says include: stress relief, physical activity, building self esteem and improved focus:
