New Commander Assumes Post At Eastern Air Defense Sector

The Eastern Air Defense Sector at Griffiss is getting a new Commander today.

Air Force Colonel Michael Norton assumed command of the EADS in a ceremony earlier today.

Colonel Norton is an F-16 pilot who has flown over 300 combat hours in support of operations Iraqi Freedom, Allied Force, Southern Watch and Northern Watch.

Before taking command at EADS, Norton was Chief of the International Affairs Division in Washington D.C.

Norton also holds a Master's Degree in International Public Policy from John's Hopkins University.
