Today several state and local officials gathered on Kellogg Road in New Hartford to dedicate a new command building to fallen Officer Joseph D. Corr. Officer Corr was killed in the line of duty in February of 2006 while chasing a suspect in a jewelry store robbery.

The new Command Building grants more space for New Hartford Police to conduct large-scale investigations and also provides a larger locker room that can accommodate multiple shift changes at once.

Officer Corr has received five posthumous awards including the Fraternal Order of Police's Medal of Honor and the Governor's Police Officer of the Year Award.
