New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - The answer is a resounding "NO."

New Hartford residents have give a thumbs down to a proposal to re-charter the New Hartford Public Library.

Yesterday's vote was 1,460 to 683.

That means residents will continue to support the library through town taxes.

Had the proposal passed, the library's budget would have increased from $571,000  to nearly $1 million.
