Rome, NY (WIBX) - Up to 70 new jobs are headed to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Rome.

Congressman Richard Hanna says this will bring the total number of jobs at DFAS Rome to approximately 1,200.

Hanna's office says a study determined that by streamlining DFAS Travel Pay operations in three locations to just one site, it would improve the processes and save money.

Call center functions from a facility in Indianapolis, Indiana will be moved to Rome this October. The Civilian PCS function in Columbus, Ohio is slated to transfer it's workload to Rome in March of next year.
