The Oneida County Bar Association's Annual Law Day Luncheon was held today at the the Radisson Hotel in Utica.

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi was the guest speaker.  Brindisi discussed the Magna Carta's importance to many of today’s issues, including the recent additions to state ethics laws in this year’s state budget.

The luncheon also featured remarks from Herbert Thorpe, a 91 year-old World War Two veteran who is one of the last surviving members of the Tuskegee Airmen.

The Bar Association also presented the Hugh R. Jones Award to Attorney Donald Snyder.

And Oneida County Bar Association President Joseph Giruzzi recognized the State Bar Association’s Mock Trial Winners from area high schools.  They included Proctor High School team and its Teacher/Coach Karen Gavigan, and Lawyer/Coach Michael Coluzza, and New Hartford High School’s team and its Teacher/Coach Peter Anderson and Lawyer/Coach Darryl Rahn.
