Operation Hang Up Begins Today

Albany, NY (WIBX) - Better put down your cellphone while driving.

State Police begin their latest Operation Hang Up campaign this week.

Troopers will be out in full force, looking for drivers using their cellphones or other electronic devices.

The Governor's Traffic Safety Committee funds "Operation Hang Up" campaigns through a Distracted Driving Enforcement Grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The campaign continues through Sunday.
