Police Rescue Woman Threatening To Jump Off Bridge In Herkimer

There were some tense moments this morning in the village of Herkimer as a woman stepped on the ledge of the West Canada Creek Bridge and was threatening to jump, police said.

Herkimer Police and State Police responded. NYSP Senior Investigator Timothy Blaise was able to talk the woman down. She was said to be undergoing an evaluation. Traffic was diverted around the area for a short while this morning but all roads have since re-opened.
