Lewis County, NY (WIBX) - The Lewis County Health Department reports a rabid skunk  was killed in the Town of Croghan recently. It's the second animal in the town to test positive for the disease in the past three weeks.

So far this year, five animals have tested positive for rabies in Lewis County.

The health department will hold a free rabies clinic on Thursday, September 29th from 7-9 p.m. at the Lowville Town Barn.

Residents are encouraged to have their pets vaccinated.
