Among the many holes the New York Mets will need to fill for the 2018 season may include the manger.

The New York Daily News cites inside sources in reporting that the team believes Terry Collins plans to retire after this season is complete. The 68-year-old is wrapping up his seventh year as the Mets' manager where he's led the team to two playoff appearances including the NL Pennant in 2015. Not only have the Mets not offered the lame duck coach a contract, one hasn't even been discussed, according to reports.

Collins managerial career includes stints with Houston Astros and Anaheim Angeles, and he also had briefly served on the coaching staffs of the Pirates and Rays.

The 2015 and 2016 campaigns were Collins' only playoff teams in New York, and his only seasons in the Big Apple above .500. Those two postseason appearances were also the only of his managerial career.
