RoboSpartans Recognized At MVEEC Tech Awards

New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - The New Hartford RoboSpartans were recognized by the Mohawk Valley Engineer's Executive Council during their annual Technology Awards Banquet.

The team, made up of six students from local middle and high schools, participated in three tournaments this year, winning two awards.

Following their pursuit of increased robotic competition, the team introduced the Central New York FIRST Tech Challenge Team Consortium.

Each year, FIRST teams spend between $3,000-$5,000. The team's goal is to reduce the cost for new teams by sharing equipment to save money.

They hope to work with at least two teams this year.

To see the RoboSpartans in action, they will host a demonstration and scrimming at SUNYIT as part of the 4th Annual CNY FIRST Robot Riot.
