HAGUE, N.Y. (AP) — Police are searching a heavily wooded area of northern New York for the suspects in a shooting at general store that has left the owner hospitalized.

Authorities say the victim was shot around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday inside the Hague Market in the town of Hague, on Lake George's northwest shore 75 miles (120 kilometers) north of Albany.

Warren County Sheriff Bud York tells The Post-Star (http://bit.ly/2oIkWvR) that the victim's condition isn't currently known, but he was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment.

Local media report that police are searching the Adirondack woods for two suspects, a man and a woman. York says the shooting appeared to have occurred during a robbery attempt.

The Hague Market bills itself as the oldest running general store in the Adirondacks. It had just reopened last week for the summer season.
