Seward Named To Two Key Budget Conference Committees

State Senator James Seward has been named to the education and higher education budget conference committees  which held their first meetings in Albany on Monday.

The conference committees are made up of five senators and five assemblyman tasked with negotiating  budget differences between the two houses.to develop a final spending plan.

The Senate budget resolution increases school aid by nearly $812 million from last year, with a $541 million dollar restoration of the Gap Elimination Adjustment (GAP), which Seward says has hurt area schools.

The budget deadline is April 1st.
