State DOT Issues Night Work Advisory

The New York State Department of Transportation is issuing a "Night Work" advisory.

Officials say with the winter season here, DOT maintenance crews are now on snow and ice shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage.

They say that means crews may also have the chance to perform roadway and bridge maintenance repairs during the evening, night time and early morning hours.

The advisory is to alert motorists that they may encounter work crews outside of the typical daytime period and to urge caution when encountering work zones.

The DOT is reminding motorists that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
