The Oneida County District Attorney's Office say a grand jury has returned a 13-count indictment against eight individuals in the beating death of Lucas Leonard and the assault of Christopher Leonard at the Word of Life Church in Chadwicks.

Although some may argue that the biggest races in Oneida County are those which are hotly contested, there are several seats for which only one candidate is running.

For the first time publicly, Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara is shedding some light on a possible motivation behind the beating death of a 19-year-old whom authorities say was brutally assaulted inside the Word of Life Christian Church in Chadwicks this week.

Very few additional details have been learned since Wednesday's press conference about the Word of Life Church beating death in Chadwicks, New York.

Police held a news conference Wednesday to discuss their 'complex and ongoing' investigation into the death of 19-year old Lucas Leonard, who was allegedly severely beaten inside the Word of Life Christian Church in Chadwicks this week.

The Utica man who stands accused of murdering three members of his family in January has been deemed to fit to stand trail, according to Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara.
