Two Local Fire Departmenst Get $300K in Grant Funding
More than $300,000 in funding is headed to two central New York volunteer fire departments.
The New York Mills Fire Department will a receive a grant of over $126,000 and the Whitesboro Fire Department will get over $205,000..
The Whitesboro FD will use the money to buy 24 new self-contained breathing apparatus units and an air compressor.
The funding is awarded through the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
The grants were announced by Congressman Richard Hanna.
