Utica Police are releasing more information regarding the apprehension of a man who led officers on a foot chase and was allegedly seen tossing a loaded gun during the pursuit.

Police say on May 17th,  Andrew Sauls, 21, of Utica was spotted by officers, who were aware he was wanted on a bench warrant. When approached, police say Sauls ran and during the chase discarded a loaded .22 caliber handgun.

Sauls was originally wanted for aggravated unlicensed operation, police said, but now facing several charges related to criminal possession of a weapon.
