The men's USA hockey team has put itself in medal position with a 5-2 win over the Czech Republic in the Olympic quarterfinals on Wednesday, setting up a ticket-to-the-gold-medal game vs. Canada.

It's the second consecutive trip to the semis for the men's team as they seek a gold-medal in hockey for the first time since the 80' Miracle on Ice.They took silver in 2010, losing to the Canadians in the finals.

Zack Parise and David Backes were among the five US goal scorers with Jonathon Quick stopping 21 of the 23 shots he faced in net for the Americans.

In other action Wednesday, Russia was upset by Finland 3-1. Their opponent in the semis will be Sweden, who beat Slovenia 5-0.

The Canadians doubled Latvia 2-1 earlier in the day as they defend their 2010 gold medal.
