A $100,000 state grant will be used to upgrade the Utica Fire Department's live burn training tower on Leland Avenue.

Senator Joseph Griffo, who announced the funding, says the Utica Fire Academy provides an invaluable resource for training first responders.

Firefighters from across the state train at the Utica Fire Academy.

The funds will be administered by the state Dormitory Authority.
